In my opinion, it can mean many things. What first comes to mind is that branding is a representation of “something.” That “something” can mean ownership, ideals, values, etc.
In a literal sense, to brand is to actually assign a mark to a particular product, service, and unfortunately in some instances, even animals and humans.
